Keynote Address

Buffalo or a Cow? Lessons in turning adversity into opportunity.

Cows and buffalo have different approaches to surviving storms. It’s a great metaphor for fundraising professionals and nonprofit leaders. It’s how we respond to the storm that can make or break our success.

Participants will:

  • Reflect on the four natural responses to adversity, and which they gravitate to.

  • Understand the dynamic between how adversity is managed and its impact on trust, according to research.

  • Learn strategies for leading well through adversity to increase donor and team loyalty and retention.

  • Consider new ways of thinking about the biggest challenges facing fundraisers and nonprofit professionals.
